Cow duck in US Bangla flight

Government's move came after the emergency landing of US-Bangladeshi aircraft at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Wednesday.


The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry on Thursday asked the US-Bangladeshi Airlines to submit a report after examining all its planes.

Secretary of the Ministry M Mohibul Haq told UNB that he has written to the airlines officials to ask them to submit the report as soon as possible.

The move of the government came on Wednesday after the emergency landing of a US-Bangladeshi aircraft at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, due to which one of the landing gear was disturbed.

Cox's market-bound flight had to be forced to do emergency landing because its nose landing gear was locked and the extension did not extend.

On March 12 this year, 51 people including 26 Bangladeshi nationals were killed and another American-Bangladeshi Airlines plane crashed and a fire broke out at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Later that month, airlines had to be forced to return to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for emergency landing after an indication of another technical problem of another Malaysia-flight flight.

In July, another US-Bangladeshi flight landed an emergency landing at the same airport, after which one of the tires was closed.
